Happy 1st Birthday Hodayah! - 2017 - pictures
Last year, 2 days before Chanukah, I got the best Chanukah present ever. Happy first birthday to my precious Hodayah Yael. And Happy "we survived a year of being parents and didn't kill anyone" Day to me and Mo Berow.
Happy Birthday Hodayah!
Today is our precious Hodayah's 5th birthday. I very vividly remember a friend coming to visit when Hodayah was only a few weeks old. My friend was telling me about how challenging she was when she was a baby and how difficult it was for her mom. I clearly remember thinking to myself "but you're 27. Your mom isn't dealing with that anymore. I'm stuck here...now...it's really hard." And then I looked down at little infant Hodayah in my arms and said "Can you just be 5 already? Please?!" And I think I actually tried to close my eyes and will it to be 5 years later when I open my eyes again, just like how they say that time passes like the blink of an eye. I thought if I blink my eyes and open them again, we can skip ahead to 5 years later.
Well, that trick did not work. I did not magically blink us 5 years ahead. (Or maybe I did...oooooh....) But here we are. Hodayah is 5 already. I can't believe it. I know how cliche that sounds, but it's true. I don't know how we got here really in the blink of an eye. I thank Hashem every day for the miracle that Hodayah is. (And yay for me surviving being a mom this long. That too is quite a miracle!)
Happy Birthday Hodayah!

Hodayah Loves her "baby brudder". Thank God. It helps that he can't grab her toys yet. #להודותולהלל
