Bear Hunt

I want to mark two days ago as another occasion when I was right and Moshe was wrong. Pandas are in fact from the bear family.

(For future me, Hodayah had a show and tell where she had to find bears and she employed my panda bear and a debate ensued.)

Pre-Shavuot Ice Cream

Thank you to everyone at Shomrei Torah in Fair Lawn, including Andrew Markowitz, Sara Winkler Markowitz, Rachel Levinson Krich, Sara Grosser, and anyone else I don't know about, for the pre-Shavuot ice cream and cheese cake. We enjoyed the ice cream so much! (Don't worry, I shared with Hillelly also, but he doesn't sit still for a picture and ice cream was melting. Priorities.)

Now don't you want to move out here?!

Vampire Baby

Today I learned that my 1-year-old son is not at all a fan of bubbles.  I also think he's a vampire ever since during bedtime tonight, he threw his bottle aside and dove onto my arm with his mouth wide opened and tried to bite it, much like one would bite a drum stick.  I also learned that my son has at least one tooth coming in.

Shocking!

Today's gems from Hodayah:
1. While talking to a walking toy - "Give us some money.  Please, may you give us some money?"

2. Hodayah: "I'm watching a shocking video." (she wasn't actually watching anything.)
Me: "umm...what now?"
Hodayah: "Hashem is shocking everyone."
Me: "ooooh ok.  Why?"
Hodayah: "B/c people are not being good listeners.  So Hashem is shocking everyone so they will be good listeners."

Wow!  Could she be any more on point?!

I carried a Watermelon

Today for my daughter's show and tell video, which we share in the class whatsapp every week, she had to show something that starts with the Hebrew letter Aleph (the first letter in the Hebrew alphabet).  So I chose watermelon, אבטיח.  So I had my daughter sitting holding a watermelon and talking about it, and only after I sent the video to the class group did it occur to me that I could have captioned it "She carried a watermelon!"  Then I realized that most of the parents are too young (or too male) to even get that reference!  🤦‍♀️

Aboom!

My Hillelly doesn't have any gems like his big sister yet.  He does randomly say a few words like "Abba" and "Mama".  But the word that he says that I'm convinced he knows exactly what it means is "Aboom!", which he says every time he falls down or bumps into anything.  B/c that's what I say every time he does those things.  It is super cute.

Foil Balls

Actual conversations with my children: 1. One Shabbat, Moshe, Hodayah, and Hillel all had crumpled balls of foil and were planning to ambus...
